Vintage radio sets are becoming increasingly popular with manufacturers reproducing models based on past century designs.  At Past Times Radio we offer you the opportunity to own the real thing !

Past Times Radio has been established since 1999.  We specialise in the restoration and sale of vintage valve and transistor radios made from 1930 through to 1980.  Be it wood, Bakelite, portable or floor standing you are sure to find something of interest here.  Once upon a time British companies such as Bush, Ekco and Marconi were market leaders in the world of wireless.  Sixty or so years later after a visit to our workshop these individual pieces of radio history are lovingly restored to their prime.   Even with the introduction of DAB radio in the UK the good news is that analogue FM and AM broadcasts are here to stay.

So if you are looking for that extra special gift or a stroll down memory lane, you've come to the right place.

We pride ourselves on giving a first class service to all our customers, with a no quibble money back guarantee.

All items are dispatched promptly by secure courier and are packed to our legendary standards so you can rely on receiving your chosen set when you want it.

This website is updated regularly with new items.  If you would like to receive an email notification when we do this update please send an email to our usual address.  If you don't find what you are looking for please contact us, we may be able to help.

Radio Controlled is the title of the BBC Radio 3 Sunday Feature, which is to be broadcast on Feb 11th at 6.45 PM.  Robert Worby tells the fascinating story of how post-war West German radio, and modern music, was conscripted to win the cultural cold war, often juggling political, economic and cultural forces outside of their control. If this sounds like your sort of thing,  tune in on Sunday evening to Radio 3 and you will also hear a little bit from that bloke in Doncaster who messes about with radios making his Radio 3 debut.   There are more details on the BBC R3 website,  the programme will be available via the BBC iplayer after broadcast.

Last September I was live on the Chris Evans breakfast show on Radio 2, as the not so mystery guest, and now I have a contribution to a Radio 3 documentary to add to my list.  What next I wonder?  Media offers welcome!  Meanwhile,  time for something completely different. Or maybe not.

We are back with some updates at last
Several nice items to be found on the communications page and some transistor DIY projects.   More overhauled items soon.

Past Times Radio is also now active on Twitter  -  you might want to follow @pasttimesradio  -  In the future we will be using this for latest news and updates, as well as general radio chat and fun.
All part of our new website which will go live soon.

Our repair service is as busy as ever with both transistor and valve based things.

We are proud to remind you that Roberts Radio made us their official recommended repair specialist several years ago for all of their back catalogue of classic analogue models.   This continues and shortly we will be launching a new dedicated Roberts repairs website.

So if you have a Roberts Radio  that needs some TLC do get in touch.

We offer the same service of course for Hacker Radios, and most other quality vintage style portables.   B&O also repaired.

Please see the "Contact Past Times Radio" page for our address and other important details.

Workshop repairs.  We are now happy to overhaul your vintage valve HiFi amplifiers and
certain vintage communications receivers,  such as Eddystone,  RCA AR88, HRO.

Collection and delivery can be arranged within the UK for very heavy items.
